Webb24 juni 2024 · I want to record an external synth in Garage Band through the iPad headphone jack. I have a 3.5 mm male to male 35 mm cable running out of the synth into the iPad, but it won't record any audio. The garage band audio recorder and sampler only seem to work with the built in mic, and the guitar am recorder doesn't pick up any sound. Webblinz possibly that this is related to the cable you are using. since your laptop uses a headphone/mic combination, you most like need a TRRS jack connector. Your laptop probably does not even recognize your external audio source since it "can't see it". Update (01/16/2024) Just recognized that this is a rather old question.
