High e string fretting out

From the 12th fret on up the high E string is definitely fretting out, and to a lesser extent the B string as well, even with the action set at a relatively high 4/64 and change. Neck relief seems good with just a bit of under bow to it. Is this common? Is some fret work in order? By the way the guitar has very low time player wear on it. Web15 de jul. de 2013 · First you would need to confirm the 17th is higher (and not that the 16th fret is lower) than the rest of the frets if your going to just tap it down. You can use a straight edge the length of 3 frets to try to rock back and forth on the 17th fret. If you can rock back and forth then the 17th is higher. WebIf it’s just that high E on the first couple of frets, try slipping a thin piece of paper, or something between the string and the slot, then tune it back up. If the buzzing goes away, here’s another trick. Instead of replacing the nut, get a tiny bit of baking soda and super glue. Mix it up, and fill in the slot on the nut, for the high E.
